14 Day Prayer& Fasting 2017 -Praying the Names of God Print E-mail
Written by Yvonne L. Massie

Dear Siloam Family,

As I think about what the Lord has done in Siloam, the great events, speakers, wonderful services, constant protection, the love experienced, people saved, and countless lives changed; I feel truly blessed to be part of this Church. Truly, the Lord has been too kind to us!

Siloam, we cannot stop praying. My prayer in 2017 is that more Prayer Warriors will rise up who dare to see the power of God as bigger than any storm or problem.

On January 8 we begin our 14 Days of Prayer and Fasting. It is our chance to pray as one family for the needs of our families, our church, our community and our world. For 14 days, we will be in one accord seeking the direction and empowerment that can only come from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Though God is infinitely far above our ability to fully understand, He tells us through the Scriptures very specific truths about Himself so that we can know what He is like, and be drawn to worship Him. The following is a list of names and attributes of God. Use this guide to enrich your time set apart with God by taking one description of Him and meditating on that for one day, along with the accompanying passage. Worship God, focusing on Him and His character.

The Prayer guide is centered on Praying the Names of God. Together, we will pray with such faith that the forces of wickedness and evil will lose their power over our lives; and the people of God will be set free by the loving response of our God to our prayers.

“By Faith, We Build Together” Faith Confessions

In order to build a building, we must build our faith.

This Faith Confession declares who we are in Christ Jesus and what he does for us.

Say it out loud daily and read the scriptures as a way to build your faith.

• I am a co-laborer with God

-1 Thessalonians 3:2

• I am forgiven by His blood and led by His Spirit

-Ephesians 1:7, Romans 8:14

• I am walking by faith and not by sight

-2 Corinthians 5:7

I therefore cast all my cares on Jesus

-1 Peter 5:7

• I am getting all my needs met

-Philippians 4:19

• Because I am a child of the Living God

-John 1:12

We’re praying that you will be strengthen and grounded in love so that Christ will continuously dwell in your heart.

‘Tis the Season to be Grateful!

December 18, 2016

Despite the official approach of winter with a few blustery and rainy days sprinkled in, we continue to see the new building rise. Framing of the windows along with new entryway gives vision that completion is around the corner!

As we thank God for this incredible gift to build and expand our ministry, we are even more grateful for what this season truly represents.

For unto us a Child is born,

Unto us a Son is given;

And the government will be upon His shoulder.

And His name will be called

Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6

Siloam Baptist Church Women's Ministry Outreach hosted a very important seminar on Human Trafficking. Together we can make change in our communities when we are aware of that is happening to harm innocent women, children and men.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is true worship.
